The roofer who walked every roof first.
Janelle Carwin is a Colorado-native realtor turned roofer. She built The Shingle Queen on one principle: treat every home like it's her own.
Realtor first. Roofer next. Same playbook.
I've spent my career advocating for homeowners through complicated, high-stakes processes. As a licensed Colorado realtor I learned how to read a house, negotiate a hard conversation, and stay calm when the clock is ticking. I learned what's behind the walls and what the inspection report doesn't tell you.
The first roof I ever did was for a client of mine. Kevin's roof needed work and I wasn't about to send him to a stranger. So I stepped in and managed the job myself. That experience changed how I thought about the trade. Most roofs in Colorado get done by someone who never sets foot on the property after they hand off a quote. I knew I could do better.
That's how The Shingle Queen started. Same preparation-first, honesty-forward, no-nonsense approach I use in real estate, brought to the roof.
What I bring to every job is the relationship, the insurance negotiation, the on-site presence, and the quality check at the end. I'm on every job. I'm the one you'll be talking to from your first call through your final walkthrough.
What I believe.
- Premium over cheap. Every time. Your roof is your home's first line of defense; this isn't where you save money.
- Your insurance should be working for you. Most people leave money on the table because they don't know what to ask. I do, and I'll handle the conversation if you let me.
- Speed matters. Especially when you're under contract or just had a storm. Most Thornton jobs are done in a day.
- Clean job sites are not optional. Debris netting around the home, magnet sweep at the end, full walkthrough before we leave.
- I'll tell you when I'm not the right fit. If you're shopping for the cheapest bid or you need a patch job, I'll say so on the first call and we'll both save time.
