Frequently Asked Questions.

Honest answers to the questions Thornton homeowners actually ask. No corporate hedging.

About the business

Do you do roof repairs or patch jobs?
No. We specialize exclusively in full roof replacements. If you need a patch or emergency repair, we're not the right fit, and we'd rather tell you that upfront than waste your time.
Why aren't you the cheapest bid?
Because the cheapest bid usually can't absorb surprises. Once the old roof comes off, there's almost always something unexpected underneath — and a rock-bottom price leaves no room to fix it right, so corners get cut or you get nickel-and-dimed later. We price so we can solve problems on the spot and still do the job to standard. If lowest price is the only thing that matters to you, we're honestly not your roofer.
Do you do commercial roofing?
No. Residential only.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Our crew operates under a licensed and insured contractor. Ask us for documentation anytime.
Do you work on homes with solar panels?
Not at this time. Solar panel homes require removing and reinstalling the panels, which involves additional companies and can extend a project timeline from days to weeks. We don't want to promise speed we can't deliver.
Do you offer financing?
No. We accept cash and card. Card payments include a transaction fee.
Do you offer a warranty?
Here's an honest answer: traditional roof warranties have become problematic in Colorado. Because of catastrophic hail weather, many warranties don't cover what homeowners think they do, and insurance companies have largely stepped in. We stand fully behind our work, but we don't sell a paper warranty that creates false expectations. We'll explain this fully before any job begins.
Do you offer free inspections?
We charge a $50 trip fee for an in-person roof assessment, and we credit it back to your roof if you move forward with us. Before any visit, we have a quick 15-minute phone call to make sure we're the right fit. This protects everyone's time and lets us focus on customers we can actually help.

The insurance process

Will my insurance cover my new roof?
If you've had a significant hail or wind storm, there's a very good chance your roof qualifies for a full replacement covered by insurance. Don't wait, though — filing windows vary by insurer and some are short. Call us first and we'll help you assess before you even call the insurance company.
Can you talk to my insurance adjuster for me?
Yes. With your permission, Janelle handles the insurance conversation directly. She knows the process inside out and will make sure you're not leaving anything on the table.
Can insurance cover better shingles?
Often, yes. Many Colorado insurance companies will pay for impact-resistant Class 4 shingles because it reduces their future claim exposure. Before you settle on a shingle, ask your insurer whether they'll cover an upgrade and whether it changes your premium.
How long do I have to file a hail damage claim in Colorado?
Colorado law allows up to 2 years from the date of the storm, but many insurers set their own shorter deadlines, and some are far less. Don't assume you have time. Damage worsens, documentation gets harder, and insurers are quick to call an older claim 'normal wear and tear.' Call right away.

The process

What happens after I contact you?
You'll schedule a 15-minute phone call. We don't go to any property until we've had that conversation. It lets us understand your situation and make sure we're the right fit. After the call, we typically schedule a site visit for the next day.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most full roof replacements in Thornton are completed in a single day because Thornton does not require a mid-roof inspection. Some larger or more complex jobs take two days, and occasionally a roof takes up to a week when a jurisdiction's inspections or permits add time.
Do I need to be home?
No. Janelle will be on-site for the work, and we never need access to the inside of your home. We'll walk through the finished job together when it's done, or schedule a separate walkthrough if you prefer.
What if you find additional damage during the job?
If we discover damage beyond what was quoted, we stop, tell you, and get your approval before doing additional work. It will be an additional cost. No surprises.
What if weather causes a delay?
Safety first. If conditions are unsafe, we reschedule at no penalty to you.
What about my landscaping and property?
We use debris netting around the home during the job, and we do a full magnetic nail sweep of the entire property at the end. We don't leave a job site until it's clean.

Materials & technical

What shingles do you recommend?
40-year architectural shingles are our standard recommendation for Colorado. They handle the weather, satisfy most HOA requirements, and often qualify for insurance coverage upgrades.
What about HOA color restrictions?
We help you stay HOA-compliant. If your community has an approved color or material list, send us the HOA documents and we'll design within the rules.
Can you handle skylights?
Yes. When replacing your roof, we can replace or upgrade your skylight at the same time, or close it in entirely if you prefer. Closing in a skylight does require a drywall patch on the interior; we have a trusted contractor for that.
What about tile roofs?
Tile is very weather-resistant and a great choice for Colorado. We can advise on this during your consultation.
Do you work in all weather?
We work in light snow and cold. We reschedule when conditions are unsafe; rooftop safety is not negotiable.
Do you work weekends?
Yes. We can schedule Saturdays and Sundays.
